I normally don't post notices of presentations but this one is special. The presentation is special for two reasons:

1) At the invitation of the Goingsnake Historical District, Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at 10am in the Henderson Public Library of Westville, Oklahoma, I will present "Bondage to Belonging?"  This historical association has a lengthy and profound commitment to the preservation of Cherokee culture and history.

2) The subject matter of Cherokee Slavery and Freedmen issues in my Cherokee Trilogy is an important trope but often ignored when my trilogy is discussed and I find it an honor to explore the subject in the heart of the Cherokee Nation.
